How To Identify Your Key Media
Targets
|
|
|
You get the most out of your news releases by targeting
your key media carefully. You target by sending your news release
only to those media who are interested in your news. You don't waste
your money and time sending a news release to people who won't be
interested. Your create and use media lists contains only those
media who will be receptive to your news.
You target by first identifying who will be interested
in the subject of the news you offer. Two factors operate here --
reader or audience interest and editorial interest. What the readers
or audiences want to read or hear is the single most important piece
of information. Editorial interest more often determines the news
slant or the style of presentation. Together they help you identify
the right media and what to send to the right media.
